Story 1 Rainstar's Choice

Rainstar was awoken by a sharp prodding in the side. It was a cloudy day, and looked gloomy. "Hey!" Rainstar mewed. He was a gray tom with amber eyes, and a well respected name.

"Hey is for those animals Twolegs used a while back to pull themselves, horses." A tawny she-cat was looking down on him with an amused look on his face. It was Daisydapple, RiverClan's deputy. She was named for her cream spots on her back and tail.

"Good morning, Daisydapple. Next time, send out the morning patrol without disturbing me, okay?" Rainstar asked, purring silkily.

Daisydapple rolled her eyes. "Trustfire needs you. Says she won't budge until she sees you. And Amberpaw's really bothering her! Can I admit her?"

This time Rainstar rolled his eyes. "Come in, Trustfire!" A black she-cat with orange spots all over her walked in and fixed  blue eyes on the cream deputy.

Trustfire greeted him cordially. Then she turned to Daisydapple, whispered something, and flicked her tail at Rainstar. "Of course, Trustfire." Daisydapple meowed, and left Rainstar's den. That was another thing. Nobody dared to argue with Trustfire, even Rainstar himself.

"So, how can I help you this morning?" asked Rainstar, trying not to sound agitated that he had certainly been woken up quite earlier than he would have liked.

Trustfire bowed her head. "I had a dream from Applefur, my old mentor. He said there would be a huge flood, the river would rise, and all the Clans would count on us for safety. You'd have to take care of them..."

Rainstar thought for a moment. "Random cats?"

Trustfire nodded. "Random cats."

The old gray tom looked thoughful. "Okay, I'll..."

Suddenly, there was a loud shriek, and the water began to steadily rise, higher and higher!

Story 2 Evacuating RiverClan

Rainstar bounded out of his den and climbed up to the Rainrock, the rock where he made his announcements. Daisydapple ran and helped get the queens and the kits out of the nursury, which was filling up fast!

Rainstar explained what was happening to his Clan. He was just finishing when the riverbed wall broke! Their camp was flooding quickly, filling up with more and more water that even the most experienced RiverClan swimmer would've perished in.

Daisydapple and Rainstar saw how there was no way everybody could escape at once. "Firetail!" Rainstar said sharply. "Take Weedpaw, Trustfire, and Snowstorm, and get out! Meet us at the Fallen Forest!"

Firetail nodded. "Yes, Rainstar." He gathered the cats mentioned, and they evactuated the flooding camp. He looked back, but all he could see was Rainstar directing Darkcloud to take Goldenmorning and her kits out.

Soon Goldenmorning and Darkcloud joined Firetail, Snowstorm, Weedpaw, and Trustfire. Trustfire carefully inspected Emberkit and Brackenkit, then Goldenmorning, then Snowstorm.

After that, Cloudfall came and joined them, leading Pecanpaw, Swiftpaw, Cinderheart, and Roseheart. Then came Leafpaws and Daisydapple, led my a solumn-looking Rainstar.

"Everyody here, Trustfire?" asked Rainstar.

Trustfire nodded. "The kits are safe!" she announced, and Goldenmorning gave a sigh of relief.

Rainstar took the lead, and Daisydapple took the rear, carefully guarding Emberkit, the fiestier of Goldenmorning's kits. Brackenkit was occationally prodding Emberkit, especially when she began pestering Cloudfall with questions. Emberkit was indignant about this, and prodded her brother right back, which resulted in a scuffle. They only stopped when Rainstar told them to be quiet, for a true warrior does not scuffle over tiny things like being excited, even though this was hardly an exciting thing. But he said this in amusement, for it is not everyday one's home is flooded.

But at the particular moment, a dark shadow leaped out of the bushes. Daisydapple shrieked, "Rainstar!" Rainstar turned, but it was too late...

Story 3 Water that Makes Stones Glimmer

The figure jumped on Rainstar, and began to shake him, but Rainstar leaped onto his back, and the figure released him.

Rainstar turned him over. It was a dark brown she-cat, and did not smell of the Clans. "Who are you?" he asked.

Still gasping, the she-cat answered, "I am Water that Makes Stones Glimmer. You can call me Water."

Rainstar nodded. "I am Rainstar. This is RiverClan, and I am the leader. Our home was flooded, and we just got away."

Water looked at the Clan huddled in the shadows, looking fearfully out at her. "They don't look happy."

"Of course we don't!" snapped Darkcloud. "We just had our home flooded, and barely stayed alive!"

Water glowered at him. Rainstar quickly intervened. "We have had a long night, and we are tired. I am sorry our warriors are snappish, but you can hardly blame them, given the circumstances."

Water's expression softened. "Of course, Rainstar."

Daisydapple walked up to them. "Do you have a home, Water?"

Water looked up at her wearily. "Yes, I was a prey-hunter of the Tribe of Glittering Stones. We lived in that cave up there, on the ravine."

Rainstar looked, and saw a cave, deep in the heart of the ravine, and bordered by the river. Rainstar would've claimed it for RiverClan, but he would not interfere with the Tribe's home. In fact, RiverClan wouldn't have even stopped if it weren't for Water.

Firetail walked up to the brown she-cat. "Was? Aren't they still there?" he asked in a gental voice that wouldn't seem possible for such a powerful-looking and threatening warrior.

Water looked upset, as if her best friend had indeed fallen over the edge of the ravine. "No, they too had a flood, and were kept out of their house. They forgot about me. They're safe, I saw them, but the Stoneteller wouldn't allow me into the Tribe again."

Rainstar knew he had to help this she-cat, but he wasn't sure how. He and Daisydapple talked for a while, and then he knew what to do. What he had to do.

Story 4 ShadowClan joins RiverClan

"Cats of RiverClan, gather around me for a Clan meeting." Rainstar called, which was unnessecary, considering they were already somewhat gathered.

"This cat has contributed much to her Tribe, and will make a fine warrior. I now pronounce you-" Rainstar said loudly to Water that Makes Stones Glimmer- " a RiverClan warrior. You are now to be known as Waterglimmer."

Waterglimmer looked like this moment could last forever as RiverClan chanted, "Waterglimmer! Waterglimmer!"

Soon, the old gray RiverClan leader beckoned to Emberkit. "I now pronounce you Emberpaw. I will take you as my apprentice, and will train you well. Brackenkit, you will be mentored by Cloudfall. You should know be called Brackenpaw."

RiverClan certainly had something to be proud about. "Emberpaw! Brackenpaw!" they called. Goldenmorning couldn't be happier. Correction, she could, and she was. When Emberpaw and Rainstar touched noses, and when Cloudfall and Brackenpaw licked each other affectionatly.

"Pecanpaw, Leafpaws really taught you, and you are now to be known as Pecantail. Swiftpaw, you are now known as Swifthawk. You learned well under Firetail. Trustfire has undoubtably trained you, and will continue to train Amberfrost. She tells me about all you have done, and I am proud. And Weedpaw, you are a strong apprentice. Just like Cinderstone is, but a warrior. Your time has come. You are now known as Weednose."

RiverClan cheered, "Pecantail! Swifthawk! Amberfrost! Weednose!" It made them cheer just to know that RiverClan still had warriors.

That night, as all four new warriors stood their vigal, there was whispering in the bushes. "We have found them!" said a loud, feminine meow. But that was all they heard.

They told Rainstar, and he looked out for any cats, but all they saw was a kittypet with a loud collar that said, "Fanny: Please return if found to: 4738 Carlisle Blvd. 856-476-1475 Har-" and the Clan cats couldn't make out anymore.

But that night, the Clan heard the voice, and suddenly, there was a mew, and the ShadowClan deputy Hollyfire leaped into the clearing! "Rainstar! Take us in! Please!" Hollyfire begged. "Fallenstar drowned in the flood and ShadowClan has five apprentices, three kits, twelve warriors, our medicine cat, her apprentice, and me!"

Rainstar, groggy, for it was about moon-high, nodded to Hollyfire. "Yeah, sure, you can stay. But the kits and their mothers in the nursery, or where Snowstorm is." Goldenmorning had moved out, and was now in the warriors den. "You go with Daisydapple, the deputy's nest, and put the warriors in their den, where all the cats are. Apprentices go in their place, by those smaller cats."

But, StarClan, was RiverClan surprised in the morning, when they woke up to find ShadowClan in their empty nests! Afraid of it getting nasty, Rainstar called the RiverClan cats together to tell them. But some Clan cats weren't there, and that worried Rainstar.
